Cookie policy
A short, honest list of what this site stores in your browser, why, and for how long.

What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. Sites use cookies to remember things between pages and visits — a login, a language choice, or the fact that you've already answered a question. Related technologies such as local storage work similarly. This site uses both, and we refer to them together as "cookies" below.
The categories this site uses
| Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie-consent choice in your browser's local storage so the banner does not ask again on every page. Also covers any cookies our hosting sets for security and load-balancing. | Consent choice: until you clear it via "Cookie settings" or your browser. Security cookies: session only. |
| Preferences | We do not currently set preference cookies. If that changes, this table will be updated first. | Not used |
| Analytics | Set only if you accept: help us understand which pages are read and how visitors arrive, so we can improve the site. No analytics cookies are set if you decline. | Typically up to 24 months |
| Advertising | Set only if you accept: used by Microsoft Advertising to serve and measure ads, cap how often you see the same one, and — where consented — show personalised ads. See our advertising policy. | Typically up to 13 months |
Separately from the categories above, the embedded Google Map on the contact page is loaded directly from Google. When it loads, Google may set its own cookies under its own policies — the map only appears on that one page and is not loaded until you reach it.
How the consent banner works
The first time you visit any page of this site, a banner appears at the foot of the screen explaining our cookie use and offering "Accept" and "Decline". Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage and the banner does not appear again on later visits. Analytics and advertising cookies are only ever set if you choose "Accept"; choosing "Decline" keeps the site working with only the strictly necessary storage.
The banner links to this policy, so you can read the details before deciding.
How to withdraw or change your consent
You can change your mind at any time. Click the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page: this clears your stored choice and brings the banner back, where you can accept or decline again. Deleting your choice does not by itself remove cookies already set — see the next section for that.
Browser-level cookie controls
Every modern browser lets you see, block and delete cookies for specific sites or altogether. The settings are usually found under "Privacy and security" or "Site settings". Useful starting points:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
- Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
Blocking all cookies will not break this site — the strictly necessary consent record simply will not persist, so the banner may reappear on your next visit.
